The International Air show MAKS 2015 occupies a leading position in the ratings of major world aviation forums and attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors every time it is held.
MAKS 2015 is a major Russian exhibition which includes strategic displays of aerospace production, demonstration flights, various forums and seminars. Different types of aircrafts will be displayed in the sky and at the static stand. Best test pilots and aerobatic teams will demonstrate their mastery performing breathtaking maneuvers.
Some prototypes of aircrafts, combat systems and experimental units, which for various reasons cannot be shown abroad, are demonstrated at MAKS only.
The Russian Air Force will be represented by several well-known teams – the “Strizhi” (Swifts), the “Russian Vityazi” (Russian Knights), the “Socoli Rossii” (Russian Falcons) and the “Bercuts” (Golden Eagles).
The “Russian Vityazi” is the only aerobatic team performing formation aerobatics of heavy fighters.
The “Strizhi” aerobatic team demonstrates solo and formation aerobatics at MiG-29 fighters featuring a wide range of aerobatic maneuvers.
The “Socols” is an aerobatic team performing solo and formation aerobatics at Sukhoi Su-27 fourth-generation fighters. This is the only aerobatic team flying combat fighter jets to display low-altitude dog-fight elements for wide public.
The “Bercuts” is flying six Mi-28N attack helicopters. This is one of the few helicopter demonstrator teams worldwide capable of demonstrating top-tree aerobatics in both vertical and horizontal planes.
Teams “Taurida”, “RUSS”, Baltic Bees and “Perviy polyot” (First Flight) Flying Club were also announced as participants of the flying program.
MAKS is traditionally held in the small Science town of Zhukovskiy, which is associated with Russian aviation technologies. Visitors of the exhibition can get acquainted with the Russian scientific, production and experimental hubs located in the close vicinity of Gromov Flight Research Institute, where MAKS 2015 takes place.
MAKS has been held on odd years since 1993. So do not try to find any information on MAKS 2016, because the next exhibition will be held in 2017.
