The only way to get to Suzdal is by bus. Neither direct trains nor flights are available to the city.

Suzdal Bus station

Suzdal Bus station is located about 1.5 kilometers away from the city centre. Not too close, but still within 20 min walk if you don’t have bulky luggage. Follow Vasilyevskaya Street (Rus: Васильевская улица) which leads to the city centre and passes by Vasilyevsky Monastery.
However, most buses from Vladimir stop at the bus station and go further to the center. Just pay the driver extra for delivery.

To get to Suzdal by bus

Buses depart from Shyolkovskaya metro station of Moscow every 0.5-1 hour and travels 3-4 hours. There are infrequent direct buses to Suzdal which also depart from Shyolkovskaya. Travel time 4-5 hours. Planning travel to other cities keep in mind that there is direct bus to Suzdal from Ivanovo, Kostroma, Gus Crystal, and Yaroslavl.

Put Москва (Moscow) into the field “Откуда”, Суздаль (Suzdal) into the “Куда”, choose a date in the field “Дата”, select the number of passengers in the field “Пассажир”.

To get to Suzdal by train

Take a train to Vladimir first, then continue to Suzdal by bus (departures every 30 minutes, travel time about 40 min). Vladimir’s bus station is located right opposite the railway station, so you will not lose much time changing transport.
Trains to Vladimir depart from Kursky railway station in Moscow. The journey takes about 2.5-3 hours. The train timetable. Keep the ticket for the whole of your train journey!
The journey from St. Petersburg to Vladimir by train normally takes 10-11 hours.
The Vladimir’s railway station is a major transportation hub. Trains from Severobaikalsk, Kemerovo, Novy Urengoi, Chelyabinsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Perm and other cities stop here.

      Yes. There are two options:

      1. Buses depart daily from the Suzdal bus station (44, Vasilyevskaya str / ул. Васильевская, 44)
      Departure at 08:05. Travel time is 4.25, Arrival at 12.30 to Yaroslavl bus station (80, Moskovsky av. / Московский проспект, 80)

      2. Bus departs on Mon, Tue, Thu, Sat the Suzdal bus station (44, Vasilyevskaya str / ул. Васильевская, 44)
      Departure at 17.20, arrival at 21.45 to Yaroslavl bus station (80, Moskovsky av. / Московский проспект, 80)

        Hi! Thank you for this advice. I assume that we cannot purchase the tickets from Suzdal to Yaroslavl (departure at 17.20) online, correct? If we can, please do you have a link? If not, do we just buy it at the ticket office?

    Thanks. Can I book this bus trip from Suzdal to Moscow on-line? Is it from site https://bus.tutu.ru/ ? I could not get it to show any buses when I put in Russian ‘Sudzal’ to ‘Moscow’. thank you.

      Hi!

      The site wwww.tutu.ru doesn’t have the route Suzdal-Moscow. Only Moscow-Suzdal. And we don’t know why..

      You can see the timetable, but cannot purchase tickets online.
      The direct(!) bus departs once a day at 13:25 (local time)

      Yes, the bus is scheduled on Monday and Friday. Buses depart almost each hour. Travel time depends on the route (from 4 to 8 hrs).
