A simplified procedure of entry to Vladivostok by filling out an electronic questionnaire visa application on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has been postponed once again.
As previously reported, the “Vladivostok visa on arrival” system should have come into force in July 2016, however, was postponed due to the lack of regulations passed by the State Duma. The exact dates of the beginning of the regime in 2017 are still not known.
The special regime for Vladivostok Free Port is established by Federal Law No. 212-FZ “On Free Port of Vladivostok” and a number of laws introducing amendments to other legislative acts. According to the documents, visa should be issued after filling in a special electronic visa application on site of MFA. After verification of the questionnaire by competent authorities foreigners will receive notice providing the 8-day entry visa.
Vladivostok is the biggest Russian city-port at the east and the final stop of the Trans-Siberian railway. It is one of the international sea routes for many countries, including Japan, Korea and China.
