We took the day trip by boat from Irkutsk to Lake Baikal in mid August 2019. The boat was very comfortable and the crew was helpful. We made three stops along the lake shore to see tunnels, train track and enjoy the beautiful lake side. The crew was kind enough to offer us English language information when requested, and one crew member spent time with us on our lunch stop to offer us more English language information. We ordered our lunch with the tour and highly recommend. Lunch was provided by a local hotel with small cabins. We enjoyed a salad from their garden and spirits they had made on site. There’s nothing like Lake Baikal elsewhere in the world and to experience it by boat is quite unique. We highly recommend this tour.

We completed our Circum-Baikal Railway on 20.08.2019 with the assistance from Russia E-Guide.
Starting from booking, Oksana (Russia E-Guide) provided highly efficient process and easy booking system. The information shown on the web site is very detail as I checked several other travel agent web sites in Russia.
One day prior to the departure, Oksana sent a reminder to remind us the trip.
During the whole trip, everything worked smoothly and seamless.
We highly recommended Russia E-Guide if you want to have Circum-Baikal Railway.
Many thanks to Oksana and Russia E-Guide.

Many thanks to Oksana for ensuring the tour we took met our rather tight timescales for being in the area and being very responsive to the queries we had over email and whatsapp. Excellent service – and the price we paid was lower than via the other travel agents we’d seen on google.

The information she sent over was comprehensive and helped us with the tour as we didn’t bother with the english speaking guide option.

The tour itself was excellent, only marred by some rain in the morning during one of the longer stops. Plenty of train/tour staff to ask if any issues – not much english spoken, but we got by.

The food was fine but the locals have food on offer at the longer stops so you could probably do without it. Take a mug/thermos and your own tea/coffee and make use of the boiling water in each carriage.

I am happy with Oksana service from the beginning of my enquiry until the end of the tour.
She always reply my each responses promptly and provides well information including details of the tour.
Especially we joined the tour from Slyudyanka station and she provided me with the guide contact details.
The tour was as described as on the tour information. The lunch was very nice.
The tour guide was helpful to call a taxi for us to my hotel when my tour end in Listvyanka.
      The negatives things are:
      – the train coach does not have air conditions.
      – the tour guide is in Russian
Overall, we are happy with the tour and Oksana’s service. Spaciba Oksana.

We booked the Circum Railway Tour and expected to have an English speaking guide to tell us about the railway’s history and all. To our surprised we were told the tour is conducted in Russian and there was no translation throughout the whole trip. The only thing that was communicated in English were instructions on where to sit, where to have lunch which we paid for, where is the toilet, how long we can stop at a certain point. Etc.
So if you book this tour don’t expect an English speaking tour.
You will be ignored most of the time as the guide talk about the history etc of the railway.
At the end of the tour, you will be asked to buy a book for 350 Rb to read on your own.

According to timetable, the train arrives at Slyudyanka station at 17-00 (local time).
Unfortunately, gettin off at Slyudyanka doesn’t affect the tour price.

Great scenes to visit. It is a must if you have extra day in irkutse.
The train will make few stops along the way.
One caution, please study background of each station in advance, cos the guide will mostly entertain russian guests. And will be kind enough to give us time notifications, and answer our questions.

      Dear Russia E-guide,

I’m here to express my great thanks to you and especially one of your staff, Oksana Mazura.

My mother and I had booked the Baikal circum railway tour 10.2.2019. Unfortunately, my mother broke her arm when falling down on ice one day before the trip. It was Oksana that helped us with all the language translation during the emergency treatment. In addition, she managed to give almost all the trip refund. It was really a hard time for us, but Oksana was always there waiting to help.
No words can fully express our gratitude, so we decide to leave a message here. For others who are reading this letter, I must say that you can totally trust Oksana and Russiaeguide. We hope one day we can come back again.

      Thank you so much!

      Best wishes,

      Please advise us the following:

      1. If our train arrive on time, could we still join the tour and catch up the train the tour would take?

      2. If our train is delayed, would the train of the tour would adjust the departure accordingly?

We have booked a hotel in Listvyanka settlement for 23 Sep. We understand that if we could join the tour, the ticket would be 200 rub cheaper.

      Thanks.

      Hello

I want to confirm that in early July 2018 there are electric train excursions on Tuesdays. Your schedule indicates that they are every day in July except Saturdays but it doesn’t indicate whether Tuesday tours start at the drama theatre (like Monday and Thursday tours) or from the train station like (Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday tours).

      Please let me know.

      Thanks

      Dave

        Hi Dave!

We have updated the webpage. Now it shows the actual timetable.
On Tuesday the train operates the route Irkutsk – Slyudyanka – Port Baikal – Listvyanka – Irkutsk and departs from the railway station.

        Hello!

There are no tours by the electric train in April. The retro train will run 2 times, on April 28 and 29.
Unfortunately, there no more tours by the Circum-Baikal Railway in April.

      Recommend Russia E-guide(especially Oksana)’s service!

We are a group of 5 Taiwanese tourists, who searched for English website to buy tickets of Circum-Baikal Railway. We found Russia E-guide’s website bringing a lot of excursion information and the price is reasonable (It seems Russia E-guide works with local tour agency, the price isn’t the cheapest. I have to say, it turns out they really do good job in arranging things so the price worth paying).
I wrote an email in English to Russia E-guide. They quickly reply me. Russia E-guide helped us to book the lake-side seats, answered our questions about transportation and kindly reminded us a few tips. I got total 31 emails for this communication sessions with Russia E-guide. Wow! They did make sure that everything is alright. Our trip went very well.
Thanks for Russia E-guide and Oksana.

Please indicate, what class of carriage do you want to book (1st, 2nd or 3rd) and would you like us to arrange for you meals in the train (lunch and/or dinner).

In order to book the tickets, we need your and your companion’s full name, passport data, and date of birth.
