Baikal Ice yachting is luxury and adrenaline fuelled experience! It’s a favorite activity of the Russian tsar Peter the Great. If you’re looking for something unique and special, try yourself as a brave ice-yachtsman sailing a yacht across the clearest ice of beautiful Lake Baikal in the heart of Siberia.

The tour takes place either in Listvyanka village located 65 kilometers from Irkutsk or on the ice of the Maloye Morye strait 260 km away from Irkutsk. Listvyanka is one of the oldest villages at Lake Baikal. The Maloye Morye is a strait that separates Olkhon Island form the mainland.

You have a chance to try unique ice yachting on the transparent Baikal ice with ideally flat surface. The ice boat moves at air speed or even 2-5 times faster. Please notice, it’s not ice windsurfing. What is the difference between ice yachting and ice windsurfing? – It’s like a Formula1 race car and a bicycle respectively.
We have got the ice boats of two types – modern vehicles and vintage ones. The modern boats accommodate 1 person. The elegant retro-yacht is designed for 2 persons.

In Russia the ice boat construction began in XVIII century by order of the Tsar Peter the Great. Peter the Great used to sail a ice boat daily in front of the Winter Palace in Saint Petersburg.

The ice yachting is an exclusive and unique activity. The ice boats are created using modern technologies and expensive materials, for example the carbon fiber is for the mast, and the special steel is for the ice skates. Each detail is aligned accurately by the professional pilot.
You will sail the ice boat under the control of a professional instructor if the air speed is comfort for sailing, 3-6 km/h. Previous experience is nor required. Children are allowed to participate the tour.

You can visit the famous Baikal Ice boat Racing as a spectator. Te event takes place in the period from mid March to mid April depending on the current temperature.
